President Opens Second Phase of New Delta Corridor in $250M Push

Transport ministry officials said the corridor's second phase spans 48 kilometers, including three overpasses and four service stations along the route.

The ministry said work has begun on the project's third and final phase, due for completion in the first quarter of next year.

The project is part of the state's plan to upgrade the national road network, with a total cost exceeding $250 million, jointly funded by the treasury and international lenders.

This corridor is not just a road — it redraws the map of trade movement between Cairo and the Delta for decades to come.

The new corridor is expected to cut travel time between Cairo and Mansoura from two and a half hours to about 70 minutes, according to a technical study by the roads and bridges authority.
